Sanctuary Funded
Whittington Lane
Whittington Lane play area has received a substantial makeover thanks to a £12k donation from a local housing developer Sanctuary.
Old equipment at the Whittington Lane playground in Unstone has been removed and replaced with brand new items thanks to the funding from Sanctuary.
The playground is just a short walk from Sanctuary’s The Boatyard development, where it is working with contractor Vistry Partnerships to deliver new homes for shared ownership.
The improvements have been delivered through Sanctuary’s MORE programme, which aims to support local need and deliver community investment in the places where it is building new homes.
Sanctuary has worked closely with the Parish Council, who also contributed funds for the new playground and will be responsible for ongoing maintenance, while Vistry arranged the installation of the new equipment.
Colleen Eccles, Sanctuary’s head of place shaping, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work so closely with the parish council and deliver a project that will have real benefits for the local community.
“The playground is in a lovely location and I’m sure families from our new development and all over Unstone will enjoy visiting and playing on the new equipment.”
The Chair Cllr Sandra Hopkinson at Unstone Parish Council, added: “The Whittington Lane playground is very popular with local families, and it’s been great to see children having fun and making good use of the new play equipment. We would like to say a big thank you to Sanctuary for working with us to invest in local facilities.”
Works have now been completed and the park is operational please visit the park and let us have any feedback you would like to share.
