The role of the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) is to report to the Parish Councillors and members of the public the current state of the finances on a monthly basis.
A detailed written report is supplied to all Parish Councillors at the monthly meeting for approval.
On an annual basis the RFO submits to an internal auditor the council's finances these are then submitted to an independent external auditor for verification and sign off.
It is the responsibility of the RFO to make recommendations to the Parish Council for the level of precept which would be required for the next financial year. This is completed in September to enable the request to go to District Council for the finances for the following year.
It is the responsibility of the RFO to make sure that the Council adheres to the current Financial Regulations. These are reviewed at every AGM.
